Chief Scout Bear Grylls visits thousands of Scouts in Wales at locations including Barry Island, Llyn Brenig and Gribin Facet in Snowdonia, over the weekend of 6 to 7 October 2012.

In the sixth part of his mission to visit Scouts across the UK, Chief Scout Bear Grylls flys into various locations around the West Midlands on 6 October 2012, including BrumVenture in Burcot, Worcestershire and Coventry Back to Basics .

Thousands of Scouts, Bear Grylls, Chief Scout, took to the skies in the fifth instalment of 'Bear in the Air', his mission to meet as many Scouts as possible during his five years as UK Chief Scout.

Ten eager Beaver Scouts and Cub Scouts from 6th Southgate Scout Group took on a variety of tasks across the Parliamentary Estate, which included a litter pick, helping the doorkeepers for the House of Commons and House of Lords galleries and clearing tables in Portcullis House.

A new clothing range for girls in Scouting has launched. The new i.Scout hoodie dress is the work of designer Sarah Elenany, whose fashion label, Elenany, provides stylish clothing that Muslim women can wear.

The design was developed in partnership with Muslim girls in Scouting. As well as looking great, the dress is also practical enough to wear during activities. The outfit is knee-length and features a graphic print inspired by activities that encapsulate our adventurous spirit.

Scouts Secret Island Adventure is an all-action game that showcases the best of scouting skills and activities. Available this April on Apple and Android devices, players can create their own character and enter a virtual world. They then engage in a series of challenges in order to find the chief scout's secret knowledge.

As one of the country's most high profile figures, it is hoped the Duchess of Cambridge's decision to volunteer will encourage many other young adults to get involved in Scouting.

Scouting is in need of more adult volunteers, with over 33,500 young people currently waiting to join.

As we welcome the announcement that the Duchess of Cambridge will join Scouting as a volunteer, we hear how chief scout Bear Grylls and other volunteers contribute fun, challenge and everyday adventure to 400,000 girls and boys around the UK.

The Duchess joins 100,000 other adult volunteers, many of whom volunteer their time on a flexible basis. Scouting is in need of more adult volunteers, with over 33,500 young people currently waiting to join.

We offer over 200 activities from abseiling and archery to drama, street sports and water zorbing. Scouting helps 6-25 year olds grow in confidence, achieve their full potential and become active citizens in their communities.
